Titans News · Northview Varsity Girls Golfers Get Two Consecutive First Place Finishes

The Chateau Course at Chateau Elan Resort was the scene of the latest win by the Northview Lady Titan golfers. Our girls ruled over more than a dozen teams from high schools as far away as Bleckley County in middle Georgia.

Using the modified Stableford format, the team of Erica Scutt, Alice Choi, Julia Yun-Thayer and Yavonna Wu had a total team score of 80 Stableford Points to defeat runner-up Blessed Trinity by seven.  Alice Choi led the effort by garnering 36 points on her own.

Meantime, Northview’s Lady Titan Golfers shot a total of 6 under par to take first place and overall low team score at The Towne Lake Hills Par Three Classic on March 15th. It was the second consecutive win in as many outings.

Each of the eight high schools competing fielded two, two-person teams. The golf course, which usually plays 6,900 yards from the tips was reconfigured so that each of the 18 holes was at a par three distance.

Our Ladies were more than up to the challenge with the team of Senior Erica Scutt and Sophomore Alice Choi combining for a 4-under total of 50. Also keeping it below par were Junior Lauren Siegel and team new-comer, Freshman Julia Yun-Thayer. The Lady Titan beat their nearest competitors from West Forsyth by 8 strokes. The ladies have a busy few weeks with matches several times a week during March.
