Volleyball Update

Good news, things are looking up for the 2020 volleyball season at Northview. As of June 21st, we have been able to get into the weight room with our returning players, following the guidelines set by Fulton County Schools and GHSA. If things continue to go well, the hope is that we can get into the gym in July and start having some open gyms for returning players and incoming freshman. Following the GHSA mandated dead week (June 29th – July 3rd), we will have a schedule for players to get into the weight room and gym, again if this is permitted by Fulton County, in accordance with GHSA guidelines.

Tryouts – As of today, we will plan on having tryouts towards the end of July. We have not set a specific date, but we anticipate the tryouts will happen just prior to the school year.

Open Gym and Tryout requirements – Prior to participating in open gym and tryouts, players must complete a Dragon Fly account, complete with a physical. Players will not be able to participate in any summer activities until cleared by the athletic department. All the Dragon Fly information can be found at this link https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/sportshub2-uploads-prod/files/sites/745/2019/05/01144457/DragonFly-Signup-Handout-NHS.pdf

In addition, you will need to print out a pre participation medical form and have it completed by a parent and a physician, before participation.
